I tried capturing the feeling of 80’s tv toy commercials and the Sears Christmas Wish Book. They always had elaborate arrangements and sets for the toys, with vehicles, bases, and usually way more figures than most kids would ever own. But we could dream.

I don’t paint humans often, but just like in the television ads, I felt this needed a kid who looked straight out of the 80’s playing with the figures. Luckily my son fit the part.
