Something Strange in the Neighborhood – 16”x12”  I’ve had these toys in the studio for a while, trying to figure out how I could use them in a painting. I was pulling out playsets for the Ghostbusters to do battle, when I put the Sesame Street playset next to Ecto-1. The idea of The Real Ghostbusters cleaning up Sesame Street after the containment unit was breached is now one of my favorite things to think about. First of all there are already monsters on Sesame Street. Second it’s in New York!

One of my early memories is of playing with the Little People Sesame Street playset on the floor. I was very young and had something akin to stoner epiphany, wondering if we were just toys in a playset that some giant unseen being was playing with.

So here I am almost 50, still playing with my toys, still wondering about the nature of the universe.
